Regulation of Phygital Fighting

Phygital Games keep exploring new sports disciplines that will become a part of the Games of the Future program of competition. What is the format?

In phygital fighting a sportsman plays in Mortal Kombat first and then moves to the MMA octagon. Six teams consisting of two people (in the 73 kg weight category) will participate in the Phygital Games.

The final score of the digital part of the match becomes the starting one for the physical fight. The digital part lasts up to five victories [out of 9 rounds]. Each victory in digital round will cost 1 pt. Up next fighters come to the octagon to pursue their duel there: it takes three rounds that are 3- mins long to determine the winner. Points in the physical part are awarded based on the following scheme: win by K.O. – 6 pts, victory by decision of the judges – 3 pts, draw – 1 pt each.

The crowd can impact the fight score: additional points will be awarded to the athletes the crowd will vote for. There are three nominations: “Best knock-out”, “Best fighter” and “For creativity”. In case of the score is even after all counts are made, additional indicators are taken into account in descending order of significance:

a. the best h2h stats (if there were any)
b. amount of knock-outs
c. amount of wins in rounds in Mortal Kombat,
d. overall lower body weight

If the winner cannot be determined based on additional indicators, then a shortened match in Mortal Kombat is held.
